A characteristic of this weight is that when cast and holding the line taut, it sinks 1 meter in 1 second. With the help of a stopwatch, it can be easily calculated how much time passes from the splash until the weight hits the bottom, which, of course, corresponds to the depth of our fishing spot. And that's not all! The weight contains 8 copper lamellae, which are removable. Thus, if we remove half of them, i.e., four, then the sinking will only be 0.5 meters in 1 second. Thanks to this, we can effectively measure shallow waters too!
